Thinking about generations

Sociologists and others sometimes refer to “generations” as a way to understand differences as they occur across age, life course, and cohort. What we experience and when (major events, rites of passage, trends in technology, etc.) can shape our attitudes and behaviors.

Thanks to WBIR for inviting me to contribute to a week-long conversation about generations, what they signal about social change over time, and the risks of an overly-narrow conception of any social group.
