Contemporary Sociology Review of Faithful Revolution

The latest issue of Contemporary Sociology reviews my book Faithful Revolution: How Voice of the Faithful Is Changing the Church, complimenting its relevance for the study of intrainstitutional social movements (a term I coin in the book):

“As part of a growing body of literature that examines intra-institutional social movement, social movements which target institutions and/or goals beyond the state, Bruce’s book is a valuable contribution, particularly through her naming and elaboration of the particular difficulties IISMs face. With their primary goal of making the Church more accountable and transparent, but with the problematic desire to do so while remaining loyal (and thus obedient) Catholics within the Church’s hierarchical structure, IISMs such as VOTF often find themselves dealing with competing goals.”
