Wonderful meetings in Denver, Colorado, for the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (SSSR) together with the Religion Research Association (RRA)! Highlights included a book panel on my new book, Our Lives, a feature table at the New Books Reception, as well as reconnections, collaborations, and new introductions to scholars doing fascinating work at the intersection of religion and social science. As President-Elect, I felt buoyed by positive momentum at the SSSR Council meeting and excited to carry important initiatives forward into the coming year.

As the incoming President, I had the privilege of announcing our 2026 SSSR award winners and introducing the 2026 SSSR President, Penny Edgell, for her Presidential Address. Congrats to all winners, and to Dr. Edgell for her exceptional leadership in 2025-2026!
With a little extra time on the final morning (thanks to the time change), I got out early for a 14-mile run in the nearby Cherry Creek State Park. Beautiful!

Next up: Baltimore, 2027, for my own SSSR Presidential conference! Honored to serve an association that has been so pivotal in my own growth as a scholar and person.
