Wonderful to gather in Chicago with colleagues and new connections for the 2025 meetings of the Association for the Sociology of Religion (ASR). I was honored to serve as ASR’s 2024-2025 President, delivering this year’s Presidential address.

The gathering also included a two-day symposium on the Future of Catholicism co-sponsored by USC’s Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies. We honored Nancy Ammerman with this year’s Lifetime Achivement Award. Omar McRoberts delivered a provocative Furfey Lecture. I’m grateful to ASR’s Council, program chair Eman Abdelhadi, Acting EO Meredith Whitnah, and all who participated in a memorable and generative set of sessions this year.

Already looking forward to next year in New York, NY!
